Summer can start anytime now! It can start for two reasons. One, I'm done with my crush at work with Graduation and Reunions and for two, it needs to stop raining and the temperature needs to rise above 80 degrees! It has been such a cool and rainy spring that our corn and beans need to be replanted in our garden and my butterfly bush just looks like twigs coming out of the ground. My peony bush hasn't even blossomed! The chicken runs' are so muddy and YUCKY that one of our new girls has a bacteria infection on her bum and now I will have to give my first ever chicken bath - lucky me... What I've read it should help with a Epsom salt bath and some providione.
We've let the chickens out a little more and more since our fox snatch. We haven't seen her again, but know that there are more then one in our woods! Look at my pretty boy Toppy or Reginald, or Topper-rooner... He gets called all sorts of names cause he's so darn cute!
He still gets picked on my the others, the back of his head is bald from pecking, but my boy is holding his own...
Asa's last day of school is tomorrow and then he heads to Maine Thursday with Grampy to meet up with Grammy, Derrick and Ashleigh. It will be his first long weekend away from home, I know he'll be fine but not too sure about me :( Looking forward to some down time and getting things done around outside and in the garden. Saturday I may just do nothing but sit in the sun with iced beverages since it's my 37th birthday! Happy Birthday to me :)
