Happy Mardi Gras!

To My Sista' from another Motha' - The Narretto Family of Southern Louisiana!

Last year after Mardi Gras Season was over, my friend April who I met through this wonderful world of blogging and just so happens to have a son William who is also Perfection Made with 47 Chromosomes, sent Mr. Asa a BOX FULL of Mardi Gras Beads. To say the least over the past year I have picked these suckers up no less then 121 times. Some have got sucked up in the vacuum, dragged outside and forgotten or even made their way under a bed - they have been loved immensely, put in zip lock baggies, stuck in front pockets of backpacks, purposefully placed in a metal lunchbox and called a treasure chest, tangled and untangled just to be tangled again.

I have to say the meaning of these beads is more then just beads. They are love sent from across the country from a Family we have never met, but feel so close to. Someday Asa and William will get a chance to stand side by side and put their arms around each other - and call each other brother. Because they look so much alike they could be! It's amazing how in this world today you can make friends with people you have never been face to face with, how you can feel their friendship from so far away.

So my dear friend - have a very happy Mardi Gras and catch lots of beads! Note: April does not go to the parade on Bourbon Street, there are tons of "FAMILY" parades during Mardi Gras, not just the BIG one in New Orleans :) and the kids catch the beads. I don't know why I felt obligated to clarify, I just did!

Pictures!

I feel like I haven't posted any pictures in a really long time. So here is some catch up.

Crazy Rosie, this chick is CRAZAY. She is such a handful, but a doll when she's sleeping - ha! Poor Franklin really has his hands full. Rosie is literally attached to his hip most of the time and will not leave him alone. Frankie takes it well, much better then I ever thought he would - they are constantly wrestling and she'll run at him full tilt and jump into him with her shoulder with out 1 blink or slowing down. But with all that rambunctious play they get tired and we find them crashed on the couch.

And Mr. Gracyn, 4 months old 16 pounds and just over 2 feet tall!

Vroom, Vroom!

Winter Carnival

Winter Carnival is this weekend and there is no snow from Mother Nature, but if you have a Ice Rink and a Zamboni anything is possible, even a Snow Sculpture... Sleigh Rides and Cross Country Skiing is not.

Update: Sickness

We are much better! Finally this thing is on it's way out. Both boys continue to cough a little bit. Gracyn  ended up having RSV, but he cleared it up on his own with out any meds - yeah! Asa immediately felt better after getting his ear tubes last Wednesday. You could see the relief on his face when he woke up after the procedure. As far as the procedure it went well, they also were able to get an EKG done on him and his annual bloodwork while he was knocked out. The EKG was something he has never had done, his prior pediatrician did not ever have one done when he was born (and me being overwhelmed and naive at the time I never pushed), hence one of the many reasons we no longer see him. We have tried for 3 years to get one on him, but he hates those darn sticky things! So it was a battle that his Cardiologist didn't feel we needed to have because everything sounded okay, he just wanted the solidarity of the test. Ace's ENT Doc did say he had some pretty yucky fluid in his ears and a lot of wax and that he probably should of had tubes awhile ago, but we've never been able to confirm an ear infection for him so how would we know... I can't say enough about how wonderful everyone was in the pediatric same-day surgery unit. They were outstanding, particuliarly the Child Life Specialist. Her name was Jenna and she made everything more then comfortable and accomadating. She also kept a very nervous Mommy from bursting into tears, never sing "You Are My Sunshine" when your child is being put to sleep! ABC's is a much better choice....

So we are on the mend, still no snow in sight up here in Northern New England. It's been quite mild with a few days this week and last in the upper 40's. Hey I'll take it, it makes the winter blahs not so blah-y. I head to Salt Lake, UT in a couple weeks for a Trade Show, looking forward to getting out of dodge for a few days and leave the kids in the capable hands of Daddy ;-)
