Asa's first day of Kindergarten was yesterday. He had a GREAT day! He loves his teacher and his classroom.

Fair, Fun, Chicken Run

We had a fun weekend. Our most favorite thing to do in the evenings now is SWING. Gracyn just sways and loves it, sometimes I think he's going to fall asleep.

We also went to the Fair! You know summer is coming to an end when Fair Season rolls around. We watched the Oxen - soooo pretty. Like they think their pretty, but I do....

We had some FUN Saturday morning.

It started like this...

We ended Sunday evening with pillow clouds and letting the chickens roam.

Yesterday was a big boy day. Asa wore big boy undies from the time he woke up until he went to bed last night! With out 1 single accident! Even through nap! We are SO PROUD of him and you could tell how proud he was of himself. Now, we'll see if day two is as successful :)

More success, we have some layers! Not sure how many are laying at the moment we haven't had an egg in a few days. I'm thinking it's just one or two right now and we also think we have a couple more roosters then we first thought - which was NONE. We know our 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte is a rooster cause he crows ALL THE TIME... He crows when the dogs go outside, he crows when Asa yells (yells back-LOL), he crows when someone pulls in the driveway and he crows when you don't get out to the coop fast enough in the morning to let him out. He stands in the window looking out waiting for you... His name was Wynonna when we thought it was a hen, now we call him Winston.

Who's the Boss?

Apparently I'm not anymore.

This is how the conversation went...

Me: "Asa hold still so I can take your picture"
Asa: "No, me take your picture!"

It was a back and forth thing for a few seconds and then I gave up...

Spectacles and Surprises!

This weekend we spent breaking in the new glasses (Asa, mommy doesn't mean break your new glasses either!) Check out the dapper dude!

Posing. He's so good at humoring me!
GQ Pose

handsome devil!

Can't get any cuter then this!

We had a visitor last evening. I was headed to the garden to pick some cucumbers and when I turned the corner this is what I saw! I gasped and Brian said "What?" (He was sitting about 75 yards from him and never noticed!) I loudly whispered "M-O-O-S-E!" He was nosing the cherry tomatoes! It's a miracle he didn't trample right through the entire garden. Bullwinkle was just a little guy. You can see where his horns are barely started to sprout on his head. We were afraid Momma wasn't too far away so we kept our distance. Asa was just amazed, he was a really pretty bull...
He came down the snowmobile trail, nosed the garden and headed out front of the house. At a leisurely pace, we surely didn't mind we were loving watching him.

The pics didn't come out very good because I was a good distance away. I got video that came out better except for my shaking! The second one I was holding Gracyn in my left arm and trying to shoot (video - LOL) with my right...

He headed down the bank into the road. You can hear me ask if we should go stop traffic, but we could hear cars slow down and were just as amazed as we were... The cars freaked him out a bit, he didn't know where to go because he really wanted to walk right up the road! He eventually went down the bank on the other side of the road to the brook.

He didn't come back and we never saw Momma. Asa wanted to know where the moose was this morning and I told him he was long gone and we'd probably never see him again. He asked why and I said because he sleeps in the woods. He said "He sleeps in the woods? Why?" I tried to explain that's where he lives and he said the cutest thing, "With his Mommy?"

Maine Weekend

The kids and I escaped to Maine for the weekend with Mamie and Bampie. The beach was wonderful on Saturday. Asa and Bampie jumped waves all day long! So much so Ace said his arm and neck hurt Sunday morning from holding on to Bampie's hand. It was definitely a nice getaway from laundry and dog hair!

Playing Chef

Natural Born Beach Babe...

Gracyn's new face. Scrunchie nose smile...

"Hey, I know what to do with this thing, lick the salty sand off of it!"

"I really do, I dig like this..."

"Move your hand Bampie, I want to wack that thing"

Posing with his Mr. Sand head - you too can make your own, no plastic parts required!

Bampie, Mamie and Ace

Gracyn ate a pint of sand!

5 o'clock sand shadow...

"oooo, can I eat this whole thing?"

shoveling in the sand! yuck!

I love this one, I call it "Don't mess with the Henry Boys" - LOL
