Merry Musings

We are stretching out this Holiday Thing as far as we can. We started with our annual Yankee Christmas last Sunday. Too much food and the traditional visit from Santa. After Santa gave Asa his gift he was more interested in going outside to find Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer than watching the other kids. It was a very interesting non-convincing conversation but we finally got him to come back inside...

Looking for Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer, Uncle Dave said it was on the roof.

Well, when you tell a 6 year old Santa's Sleigh is on the roof he wants to look and see it!

Gracyn was not overly thrilled with Santa, but loved his stuffed puppy he gave him!
Thank you Yankee Santa 2013 :)

Oh Christmas Tree

We went on our annual hunt for the ultimate Christmas Tree. As Gracyn passed each tree he would say, "What about dis' one?". We decided on a little full, a lot of sap (National Lampoon's X-mas) with a crooked trunk, that one was all me.... Thank God for the new Swivel Straight tree stand :)

Making his lips chapped...

Asa liked the really BIG one to the right. You can see the top of his hat in front of Grampy.

Grampy telling him it's too big...

Gracyn - "What about dis' one?"

Asa helping Daddy carry the tree.

Auntie Jenna telling Gracyn to try to pull the stump out...

Red Cheeks, it was CHILLY. I think it was around 28 degrees...

Much Overdue

My sister informed me on Thanksgiving Day that she follows this great blog but the blog owner hasn't posted in awhile. Sorry, but much madness I've been taming. My boss compound fractured his leg 2 weeks ago and I've had to pick up the slack, physically and mentally! Our little ship is floating right now and we haven't had to drop the anchor yet, so hopefully I can keep my sanity through the holidays... On the home front we are prepping, digging out holiday decorations a few at a time. Asa loves to find the treasures we packed away. We've just been enjoying, here are some pics to show it!
This is the best that I got. This is part of the slow process of getting holiday décor out. Real tree comes this weekend, not as in camo but as in fa, la, la, la-la.

One of the treasures we dig out every year. Dogs and kids have worn this through the years :) See Asa decorated the tree in the background? His beloved treasures...

Christmas 2007

Uh Oh, someone got the giggles...

Soooo dramatic... It's amazing how dogs can express themselves. She's a typically teenager :)

So, there you have it. Nothing major just livin'! Deer Season is all but over, so hopefully weekends will slow down and be more relaxing in the coming weeks.
