Nothing like putting a dog down every 2 years, that's what we get for having dogs so close in age... But this one was tough!! They all were tough, but today our precious Frankie got his wings and flew to the Doggy Heaven in the Sky... I must say the house is a little too quiet with only 1 dog (Miss Rosie) a little less toe nails on the floor and too much room to walk around in the kitchen instead of lying at my feet. I don't like it... I think Rosie feels the same, this morning she just sat and looked at me. If only she could speak and say what was on her mind but I think I know, "When is Frankie coming home?" Well he was too sick to come home. He hadn't felt great for a few weeks with a cough and being winded after running, but he was happy so we hoped it would pass, chalked it up to old age (he'd be 10 years old on August 31st). Last week he got really bad, stopped eating and throwing up a lot. Long story short, we took the plunge and did some tests and found out that he had a liver infection. He didn't respond to IV antibiotics and fluids, he was in a lot of pain. We went and said goodbye and I'm so glad we did, he had worsened in the last 24 hours and the poor guy could barely hold up his head. We had closer, so important... We hugged him and kissed him, told him we loved him and to be a good boy...
