Funny Story

Last night when we got home Asa decided to push his lawn mower around the house. I didn't think anything of it, I can see him at every turn pretty much and he was having a grand ole time. I could here him chatting away, talking about which section needed to be mowed and where he was going next (a lot of pointing and nodding his head).

All of a sudden I hear "MOM!" "MOM!" and the first thing that came to my mind was bees, I have no idea why but the panic in his voice brought that straight to my thoughts. I ran out the slider and I couldn't see where he was, I heard the "MOM!" again and he was around the back of the deck.

Now our back, back yard is still pretty muddy, the ground water just keeps bubbling out. When I got to the side where he was I just busted out laughing. There stood my little guy stuck up to his ankles in the mud still holding onto his lawn mower. I asked him what he was doing and if he was stuck, he replied "Yeah!"

Before I could get to him he tried to move, of course his feet didn't move with him and he started to teeter. "PLOP" he couldn't hold himself anymore and landed butt first, he was not a happy camper. I ran over to him trying not to seep in myself and pulled him up, he pulled one foot out and his sandal stayed put, this also didn't make him happy.

After rescue we retreated to the deck with a lot of "ewwws" because long standing mud doesn't smell like roses. I told him we had to take his clothes off and he was adamant he did not want to take them off. His shorts could of stood up by themselves with how much caked mud was on them. I left them laying on the hot tub cover hoping the rain will wash them off a bit and thank God he had on his waterproof Keen sandals, these bad boys are the BEST purchase in footwear I have ever made for him. Keen Sunsports, they are all rubber but look like regular nylon webbed sandals. I'm going to buy another pair just so we have two on hand... Yup, we've got the flame ones, they are pretty HOT STUFF :-)
